waiting

The waiting is the worst.

Seconds move like molasses.

Hours are as unbearable as a summer without air conditioning.

There is a joy at the end of the waiting that no instant gratification could ever provide.

On the other side of waiting is satisfaction.

A celebration of survival.

Proof that you can conquer a challenge and that the reward is worth waiting for.

Daily Writing Tip

Use sensory details to heighten emotion.

Descriptions like "seconds move like molasses" make abstract feelings like waiting tangible and relatable.
